Thessaloniki: World War II Shell Discovered on Construction Site

An alert was triggered in Thessaloniki after a World War II shell was discovered on a construction site in Thermi.

The shell was found by archaeologists during excavations at the intersection of Hapsa and Mandilara streets, where an apartment building is planned. Army researchers are expected to intervene to collect and evaluate the find.

The police and the EL.AS. Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department were immediately notified, and an inspection confirmed that it was military material.
