Thessaloniki: Thermaic Gulf Overflows Due to Strong Winds

Strong winds battered Thessaloniki, causing the Thermaic Gulf to overflow and create problems in the city's coastal zone.
Waves exceeded the coastline, covering parts of Nea Paralia. Near the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the waves reached several meters into the pedestrian zone.
A similar situation was observed near the Makedonia Palace, where the sea washed up debris.
The Fire Department received over 180 calls for fallen trees in various parts of the city, with material damage to parked vehicles.
