Vandalism at Kindergarten in Thermi, Thessaloniki

A new incident of vandalism occurred at a kindergarten in the Municipality of Thermi, Thessaloniki. Unknown individuals broke into the kindergarten in the Agia Paraskevi community, causing extensive damage.
The vandalism was discovered on Monday morning by the kindergarten teachers. The perpetrators broke locks, an external metal door, and the window in the director's office. Damage was also caused to telephone devices and computers. Most seriously, they cut the power and burner cables.
The Deputy Mayor of Education, Stelios Apostolou, visited the kindergarten and arranged for the restoration of the damage. Due to the lack of electricity and heating, the school did not operate, hosting only the children of working parents. The president of the Agia Paraskevi Community, Fani Dimou, was also present.
The Municipality of Thermi reports that this is not the first time such incidents have occurred. Similar acts of vandalism had also occurred in other kindergartens in the area. Mr. Apostolou stated that lawsuits will be filed against the perpetrators once they are identified.
