Halkidiki: Lifeguard Rescues 4-Year-Old from Drowning, Father Arrested

A 4-year-old boy from Serbia nearly drowned at Kallithea beach in Halkidiki. A lifeguard intervened and rescued the child, while the child's father was arrested for child endangerment.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon. The child was transferred to the Kassandra Health Center and then to the General Hospital of Halkidiki. The Thessaloniki Port Authority is conducting the preliminary investigation.

According to Eurostat, Greece ranks 7th in Europe in deaths by drowning at sea.
