Zakynthos: Boat Fire – Passengers Safely Evacuated

A fire broke out on a tourist boat in the Volimes sea area of Zakynthos, approximately 3 miles from the shore. The fire started in the engine room.

There were 168 passengers and 7 crew members on board. All passengers were safely transferred to the port of Agios Nikolaos.

The Fire Department is attempting to tow the boat to shore to extinguish the fire. The process is expected to take some time.
