Share on:

The government has announced 14 measures to combat bureaucracy, presented in a question-and-answer format by the Deputy Prime Minister's office. The aim is to simplify procedures and facilitate citizens' interactions with the public sector.

The measures include changes regarding certificates, statutory declarations, and cases where the state will not be able to claim citizens' property. The next steps to tackle bureaucracy were also announced, such as the digitization of processes via gov.gr and upgraded services through the telephone lines 1555 and 1566.

According to the government, these interventions are based on reports from the Ombudsman, proposals from MPs, and complaints from citizens. The aim is to provide practical solutions and address administrative arbitrariness.

Among other things, it is stipulated that an administrative act will be issued immediately upon submission of a statutory declaration, followed by a check for accuracy. Also, the state must prove that a property was public during the Ottoman rule in order to claim it.

The next steps include the bill to simplify industrial licensing, the MITOS platform for recording and simplifying procedures, the extension of evaluation in the public sector, the legislative initiative for urban planning, and the reform of OSE.
