17N: Koufontinas Unrepentant - Documents from Hideouts

New revelations regarding the dismantling of 17 November (17N) in the summer of 2002 were presented in Alexis Papahelas' documentary on SKAI. The episode includes footage of the bomb explosion in the hands of Savvas Xiros and videos from the ELAS raids on the organization's hideouts.
According to the documentary, the dismantling began on June 29 when Savvas Xiros was injured by a bomb explosion in Piraeus. Initially, authorities considered it an accidental incident. However, the discovery of a second bomb with a similar mechanism to those used by 17N led to the identification of the terrorist organization.
Dimitris Koufontinas, the chief executor of 17N, stated that he does not regret his actions. When asked by Alexis Papahelas about whether he considered killing Savvas Xiros to prevent him from speaking, he replied that it was a critical decision.
The documentary also showed videos from the 17N hideouts, where weapons, bazookas, and other items were found. Police officers revealed how the findings led to the arrest of the organization's members. Koufontinas surrendered to GADA, stating that he cannot renounce his history and will not sign statements of repentance.
Koufontinas also referred to an unknown person, whom he called "the old man," who helped the organization and came from higher social strata.
