Frigate 'Kimon' Belharra Arrives in Greece

The Hellenic Navy welcomed the frigate 'Kimon', the first Greek Belharra-type frigate, in the Saronic Gulf today (January 15). The frigate's arrival marks a new era for the Hellenic Navy and the strengthening of National Defense.
Historical ships such as the battleship 'Averof' and the trireme 'Olympias', as well as six ships of the Fleet, participated in the welcoming ceremony.
Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, President of the Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas, and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the frigate.
The frigate 'Kimon' had previously departed from the Naval Group facilities in Lorient, France, and met with the Greek fleet frigate 'Aigaion' in the Mediterranean Sea. A communication exercise followed between the two ships.
Chief of the Hellenic Navy, Vice Admiral Dimitrios - Eleftherios Kataras, welcomed the frigate, emphasizing its importance for strengthening the country's naval power.
