Greece: Progress in Rule of Law and Transparency, Says Akis Skertsos

The Minister of State, Akis Skertsos, stated that Greece is making steady progress on issues of rule of law and transparency. According to his post, Greece improved its international ranking by 11 places in the fight against corruption in the 7-year period 2019-2026, out of a total of 182 countries.
In this year's Transparency International report, Greece recorded an increase of 3 places (from 59th to 56th) out of a total of 182 countries. Mr. Skertsos emphasized the country's overall progress since 2019, thanks to the policies implemented. In 2019, Greece was in 67th place with 45 points, while in 2026 it is in 56th place with 50 points.
Mr. Skertsos stated that Greece is on a steady path of improvement and aims to be above the European average by 2030. He pointed out that the struggle for a better Democracy with transparent institutions is continuous and crucial for the economy and society.
