The president of Nea Aristera (New Left), Alexis Charitsis, stressed the need for the photos from the execution of 200 communists in Kaisariani on May 1, 1944, to come under the ownership of the Greek state.

In an interview, Mr. Charitsis described the publication of the photos as "shocking," emphasizing that they are proof of Nazi atrocities. He contacted the Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, who assured him that the ministry would explore the possibility of intervening in the auction to prevent the loss of the photos to a private collection.

Mr. Charitsis emphasized the importance of historical memory and the need to create a National Resistance Museum in Athens, where such evidence would be exhibited. Regarding Greek-Turkish relations, he stressed the need for communication channels, as well as deepening the dialogue. Finally, he referred to the Panagopoulos case and training programs, as well as the need for cooperation in politics.
