Former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in an interview with Le Monde, refers to the economic crisis, the memoranda, and the 2015 referendum, seven years after Greece's exit from the memoranda.

Alexis Tsipras stated that the crisis was due to a dysfunctional production model, widespread corruption, and a clientelist state. He characterized the crisis as a modern Odyssey for the Greek people and the exit from the memoranda in 2018 as the entry into a new era.

Referring to the 2015 referendum, Alexis Tsipras stated that it was time to reveal the truth and correct myths. He pointed out that, unlike others, he had not spoken about this dramatic period and that he is writing a book about it.

Alexis Tsipras mentioned that when he took over the government, the previous programs had failed, and the country had a debt of 180% of GDP and empty coffers. The aim of the referendum was to achieve a better outcome for the Greek people and to restructure the public debt.

He attacked the Mitsotakis government, arguing that there is widespread corruption and that growth benefits only a minority. He made a comparison with his premiership and predicted a difficult development due to the production model.

Regarding the possibility of his return to politics, he stated that he is currently writing his book and is not thinking about anything else. He stated that he does not miss power, but active politics and contact with voters.
