Former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in an interview with the French newspaper "Le Monde," discussed the period of the economic crisis and criticized the Mitsotakis government.

Marking seven years since Greece's exit from the memoranda, Alexis Tsipras spoke about the 2015 referendum, arguing that his goal was a better outcome for the Greek people by achieving concessions from creditors.

He noted that Greece was led into the crisis due to a dysfunctional production model, widespread corruption, and a clientelist state. He also mentioned that the current growth benefits only a minority and that widespread corruption has returned, referring to the OPEKEPE scandal.

Regarding his departure from the leadership of SYRIZA, he stated that he did not put his personal interests first, but admitted that the way events unfolded did not meet his expectations. Finally, he stated that he misses active politics and contact with voters.

In his interview, Alexis Tsipras stated he was "proud" to have made the difficult decision to sign the agreement with creditors in 2015, which allowed the country to regain its economic autonomy.
