Student Transfers: Changes Proposed by the Ministry of Education for Universities

An amendment by the Ministry of Education, submitted on July 30th, introduces changes to the student transfer process in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), aiming to expedite the procedure. According to the Minister of Education, Sofia Zacharaki, the goal is to issue the relevant circular for transfers by the end of September.
The amendment provides for the separation of the transfer process between students participating in the regular period of the Panhellenic examinations and those participating in the repeat examinations. This will allow for timely scheduling of transfers and avoidance of delays for students.
The benefits of the amendment, according to the Ministry of Education, are the timely planning of the process, the avoidance of student relocation, and the non-loss of the academic semester.
Ms. Zacharaki stated that the ministry's focus is on addressing both major and minor issues of daily educational life.
