Helicopter Forced to Ditch in Elefsina – Crew Safe

A firefighting helicopter made a forced landing in the bay of Elefsina shortly after 2 PM. The helicopter was operating at the fire in Aspropyrgos.
The three occupants, two Americans and one Greek, are in good health and were rescued from the sea. A coast guard officer immediately went to the scene with a speedboat and rescued them. They were then taken to a nearby beach where an ambulance was waiting.
The occupants were transported to Attiko Hospital for precautionary check-ups. The causes of the forced landing remain unknown.
