A heated exchange occurred between the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, and Haris Kastanidis, who resigned from PASOK, following exchanged statements and barbs.

Nikos Androulakis, speaking on Alpha, stated that Haris Kastanidis was "removed by Papandreou, dismissed by Simitis," commenting on his stance towards PASOK. He also referred to the PASOK congress's decision to limit the terms of MPs.

Responding, Haris Kastanidis, speaking on Action24, stated that he resigned as Minister of Transport in 1997 due to disagreements with the Simitis government regarding transparency in public works procurement. He also accused Nikos Androulakis of PASOK officials collaborating with the right-wing in various sectors.
