D. Maredis: 'I Considered Zetta Makri Like My Mother'

Journalist Dimitris Maredis, after his conviction for attempted blackmail against New Democracy MP Zetta Makri, spoke on ANT1's 'Summer Together' show.

Dimitris Maredis, a close associate of Zina Koutselini, stated that he considered Zetta Makri like his mother and expressed his surprise at this development. 'I was surprised myself,' he said, stressing that the charge is ridiculous and that he will prove his innocence.

Maredis claimed that his presumption of innocence was butchered and that the court's decision changed in relation to the initial charge. He also stated that he has appealed and that he does not have the stigma of a blackmailer in society. 'Mrs. Makri and I had a friendly relationship for 25 years, I considered her like my mother,' he stated.
