The trial for the train crash in Tempi, which resulted in the death of 57 people, is scheduled to begin on March 23, 2026. The trial will be held at the Gaiopolis conference center of the University of Thessaly.

A total of 36 defendants will stand trial before the Three-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies. Among them are the 60-year-old station master of Larissa, executives from OSE and ERGOSE, as well as executives from Hellenic Train S.A. and the Ministry of Infrastructure.

The charges include disruption of transport, manslaughter by negligence, and grievous bodily harm by negligence. The case file consists of over 60,000 pages.

It is noted that political figures are not being tried in this particular trial. The case of former Deputy Minister Christos Triantopoulos and former Minister Kostas Ach. Karamanlis is being investigated separately.
