PISA Exams in Greece: 600 Schools Participate on May 20

The Greek PISA exams will be held on May 20, with the participation of 600 schools from all over Greece. The process will involve 300 elementary schools and 300 junior high schools.
The aim of the exams is to assess the level of knowledge, skills, and critical thinking of students, in relation to the learning outcomes provided by the current curricula.
The exams will cover the subjects of Modern Greek Language and Mathematics. The schools were selected through stratified random sampling to be a representative sample of all school units in the country.
Special schools, foreign language schools, and minority schools in Thrace are excluded from the process. Participation of the selected schools is mandatory.
According to the Minister of Education, Sofia Zaharaki, the purpose is "the valid and reliable diagnosis of the knowledge, abilities, and critical thinking skills of students."
The results of the exams will be anonymous and will not affect the students' grades. The Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) is responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy rules.
