The Hellenic Police (ELAS) has announced increased road safety measures throughout Greece for the celebration of March 25th. The measures will be in effect on Tuesday, March 24th and Wednesday, March 25th, 2026.

The aim of the measures is to ensure the safe movement of citizens and prevent traffic accidents. They include increased police presence, enhanced policing at dangerous points on the road network, and traffic regulation in urban centers.

Increased checks will also be carried out for dangerous violations, such as driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and using a mobile phone while driving. Particular emphasis will be placed on enforcing the ban on trucks over 3.5 tons on national roads, on Tuesday (24/3) from 16:00 to 21:00 for the outbound traffic and on Wednesday (25/3) from 15:00 to 21:00 for the inbound traffic.

ELAS calls on citizens to comply with traffic police instructions and to observe the Road Traffic Code.
