ELAS: Over 2,800 Tickets Issued for Not Wearing a Helmet in One Week

The Hellenic Police (ELAS) announced that during checks carried out nationwide during the week of July 28, 2025, to August 3, 2025, over 2,800 violations were recorded for not wearing a helmet.

Specifically, 23,571 checks were carried out, during which 2,477 violations were confirmed for drivers (74 for employees in delivery services) and 415 violations for passengers.

The violations concerned 2,144 motorcycle drivers (71 delivery drivers), 371 motorcycle passengers, 187 EPΗO (electric scooter) drivers, and 77 ATV drivers.

Penalties include a fine of 350 euros and revocation of the driving license for 30 days for motorcycle drivers, a fine of 350 euros for motorcycle passengers, and a fine of 30 euros for EPΗO drivers.

The checks also focused on motorcycle rental businesses and professional delivery drivers.
