The Hellenic Police announced that during the eighth week of the campaign 'Zero Tolerance for Not Wearing a Helmet,' over 2,700 violations were recorded for drivers and passengers of two-wheeled vehicles and E.P.H.O.s (Light Personal Electric Vehicles).

Specifically, from 08/18/2025 to 08/24/2025, 21,382 checks were carried out, during which 2,788 violations were recorded for drivers and 304 violations for passengers. The violations mainly concerned drivers of two-wheeled vehicles (2,186), passengers of two-wheeled vehicles (289), drivers of E.P.H.O.s (236), and drivers of ATVs ('quad bikes') (58).

Most violations were recorded in the South Aegean (626), Attica (561), and the Ionian Islands (310).

The new Road Traffic Code (Law 5209/2025) provides for a fine of 350 euros and the removal of the driving license for 30 days for drivers of two-wheeled vehicles who do not wear a helmet, as well as a fine of 350 euros for passengers and 30 euros for drivers of E.P.H.O.s.

The Hellenic Police emphasizes that the campaign aims to change driving behavior and not to impose fines.
