Heavy Rainfall in Attica: Weather Forecast and Video

Heavy rainfall has affected many areas of Attica, causing problems in the capital. The rain was particularly intense in areas such as Elefsina, Ano Korydallos, Salamina, Perama, Haidari and Aspropyrgos.
Also, heavy rainfall was recorded in the center of Athens, including areas such as Gazi, Ampelokipi, Neos Kosmos and Vyronas. The image was similar in the southern suburbs, such as Nea Smyrni, Palaio Faliro, Agios Kosmas and Elliniko.
In the north and east of the prefecture, rain was recorded in Pallini, Papagou, Rafina, Porto Rafti, Nea Makri, Vrilissia and Agia Paraskevi. The phenomena extended to Koropi, Kalyvia, Markopoulo and Sounio, while in the west it is raining in Petroupoli, Zefyri, Chrysoupoli Peristeriou and Ano Liosia.
According to meteorologist Nikos Kanteres, atmospheric disturbances will affect the country until the end of the week. The first disturbance brought rain and thunderstorms, while a stronger one is expected from tonight, with rain throughout the country until noon-afternoon on Friday. A third disturbance is expected from Saturday to Sunday, mainly affecting western, central and northern Greece.
The EMY issued an emergency weather bulletin, as two successive bad weather fronts are expected. The first will hit from tonight until the early hours of Thursday, and the second from late Thursday afternoon until the early hours of Friday, with heavy rain, thunderstorms and very strong winds.
