Weather Alert: Rain and Storms Expected from Thursday

The weather today will be variable with clouds and local rain in the Eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. In the rest of the country, few clouds are expected, which will increase from noon with local rain, while from the afternoon sporadic storms will occur in the west. Snowfalls are expected in the mountains of Epirus and western Macedonia from the evening.

The winds will initially be west-northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort, with local intensities up to 6 Beaufort in the south, while they will turn to south-southwest, reaching locally 7 Beaufort in the Aegean. The temperature will reach 15-17 degrees Celsius in the Ionian and mainland.

From Thursday, a deterioration of the weather is expected with rain and storms in most areas of the country. Particular attention is needed in areas already affected by previous rainfall. According to meteorologist Giannis Kallianos, this is a typical bad weather event for the month of January.

During the weekend, the weather will become unstable again in most areas of the country, with showers, rain and local thunderstorms.
