Famellos: Attack on Mitsotakis Regarding the NHS and Privatization

The president of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Sokratis Famellos, launched an attack on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis regarding the state of the National Health System (NHS) and accusations of its privatization.
Sokratis Famellos accused Kyriakos Mitsotakis of exploiting the kindness and dedication of healthcare professionals, trying to justify the privatization of the NHS. He also mentioned understaffing of EKAV (National Center for Emergency Care) and the abandonment of health units in island Greece.
He also referred to private health payments in Greece, which amount to 38.6%, while the EU average is 14.3%. Finally, he commented on the vacant positions in the NHS, which amount to 6,500 doctors and 20,000 nurses.
