Fires in Greece: Fronts in Achaia, Patras, Zakynthos and Chios

Fires are ongoing in various regions of Greece, with the largest fronts located in Patras, Western Achaia, and Chios. Fires are also raging in Preveza, Zakynthos, and Kefalonia.

In Patras, the fire is approaching residential areas, and an evacuation order has been issued for suburbs. In Western Achaia, strong firefighting forces are operating due to strong winds. In Chios, the fire has created two fronts, with winds of force 6 Beaufort.

Volunteers evacuated families and pets from the Vrachnaiika area. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the National Coordination Center for Crisis Management.
