Gerapetritis Responds to Fidan: We Have No Phobias

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis has responded strongly to statements made by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who claimed that "cheap politics" from Greece could cause geostrategic consequences.
"Greece has neither phobias nor is it defined in reference to Turkey. And we do not accept instructions from anyone," Gerapetritis emphasized. "We understand the tension that Greece's strong and active foreign policy may cause. Everyone should get used to this reality and not turn embarrassment into animosity."
Giorgos Gerapetritis added that "good neighborly relations, which Greece has always sought, are not promoted by immoderate and untimely statements."
Hakan Fidan had stated that "if this cheap policy continues from Greek politicians, it may cause geostrategic consequences for Athens" and that "they use Turkey for cheap politics whenever they are in trouble."
