The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, has disputed the findings of an OECD report regarding the state of healthcare in Greece. Responding to a question from MP Alexandros Kazamias, Mr. Georgiadis argued that the report does not reflect the government's recent reforms.

Mr. Georgiadis stated that Greece has the highest ratio of doctors in the world and that delays in patient transport are due to the country's island geography. He also emphasized the availability of digital appointments with doctors, claiming that the healthcare system is the best. He expressed doubts about the ELSTAT data used by the OECD, saying that the measurements are incorrect.

On his part, Mr. Kazamias criticized the situation, citing shortages of nurses and doctors in some areas. He also mentioned that the cost of healthcare paid by citizens has increased.

Mr. Georgiadis replied that over 1 million citizens have booked free appointments through the new system and that free mammograms have not been included in the OECD's measurements.
