Traffic Disruptions in Athens Due to Protest

Traffic was briefly disrupted on Vassilissis Amalias Avenue and Vassilissis Sofias Avenue in central Athens due to a strike protest by ADEDY and POE-OTA. The protesters are demonstrating against the new state budget, which is being debated and voted on in Parliament.
Traffic was restored shortly before 13:30, but traffic around Syntagma Square remains heavy. ADEDY has expressed its solidarity with the agricultural mobilizations across the country.
Primary and secondary school teachers are also participating in the strike, and municipalities across the country remained closed following a decision by KEDE.
