Maria Marangeli, a former protected witness in the Novartis case, testified at the Athens Three-Member Misdemeanor Court, stating that the US authorities 'rewarded' her because her depositions were deemed credible. The defendant, also known as 'Aikaterini Kelesi,' referred to her depositions regarding the pharmaceutical company's practices in the US, avoiding the use of the word 'fee'.

Ms. Marangeli claimed that she testified about the company's unfair practices and did not intend to harm specific individuals. She also stated that she received threats from Konstantinos Frouzis, former powerful man of Novartis in Greece, not to speak about the case.

Regarding the case of the suitcase at the Maximos Mansion, Ms. Marangeli testified that Mr. Frouzis returned with an empty suitcase, without knowing if the money was delivered.

The trial continues with the prosecutor's closing argument.
