M. Themistokleous: Increase in Doctor Appointments in the NHS

Deputy Minister of Health Marios Themistokleous stated that available doctor appointments in the National Health System (NHS) have increased from 4 million to 10 million.

Speaking on the show "Atairiastoi" on SKAI TV on November 19, 2025, Mr. Themistokleous emphasized that the NHS is in its best phase. He also reminded the public of the three ways to book an appointment: via the telephone line 1566, the myhealth app, and the website finddoctors.gov.gr.

According to data from the SMS evaluation, the overall score reaches 4.06 out of 5, based on the responses of 22,000 citizens. The main problem highlighted is the lack of nursing staff.

Mr. Themistokleous mentioned that waiting times have been reduced with electronic tracking, and a program to strengthen and modernize infrastructure in Emergency Departments, Health Centers, and Hospitals is being implemented.
