Marinakis: Velopoulos Over-Represented on ERT Despite Election Results

Government Spokesman Pavlos Marinakis responded to claims by Kyriakos Velopoulos regarding the representation of Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) on ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation).

According to Mr. Marinakis, despite the 4.4% that Elliniki Lysi received in the elections, Mr. Velopoulos has received 8% of the airtime for political leaders' appearances on ERT and 11% of the interview time.

Mr. Marinakis also defended the credibility of ERT, stating that Reuters has ranked it as the third site in Greece and the first news site. He also emphasized that the NSRT (National Council for Radio and Television) characterized ERT as a model for managing political time during the European elections and that unionists did not confirm complaints of interventions.
