Mitsotakis: Need for functional Euro-Atlantic relations

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, following the extraordinary EU summit in Brussels, emphasized the need to maintain Euro-Atlantic relations at a functional level. He expressed satisfaction with the improvement of relations, referring to the statements of the American President regarding Greenland and tariffs.
Mitsotakis stressed the importance of a framework of understanding and warned against behaviors that could lead to irreversible situations. He also referred to Greece's strategic relationship with the US and its participation in the UN Security Council.
Regarding the Peace Council, the Prime Minister mentioned the difficulties of participation, but stressed the need to find European initiatives for peace in Gaza and the resolution of the Palestinian problem.
Regarding the Arctic, Mitsotakis stressed the need for cooperation with the US, through NATO, to prevent the influence of China and Russia in the region, ensuring the territorial integrity of Denmark and Greenland.
Finally, Mitsotakis reiterated the need for strategic autonomy of Europe and the strengthening of European competitiveness.
