Mitsotakis: Increased Funding for "Accessibility at Home" Program

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with representatives of the disability community to discuss the progress of the "Accessibility at Home" program, which subsidizes projects for access for people with disabilities to homes and workplaces.
The program's budget will be increased by 10 million euros from national resources, reaching 34 million euros. The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou, emphasized that the funded projects were selected after dialogue with organizations of the disability community.
Eligible interventions include those for mobility and sensory disabilities, with subsidies up to 14,500 euros. Beneficiaries are people with a disability rate of 67% or higher and an individual income of up to 60,000 euros.
Representatives of the disability community welcomed the program, with Vasilis Koutsianos, Secretary General of ESAmeA, emphasizing that the National Confederation has been claiming the program since 2015.
Christos Koromilas from the Board of Directors of "Lighthouse for the Blind" highlighted the ease of use of the platform, while Dimitris Athanasiou from the Union of Rare Diseases of Greece expressed his satisfaction.
