Mitsotakis: Europe Must Protect Consumers and Businesses

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, participating in the EU Summit, stressed the need for Europe to protect consumers and businesses from the impact of the energy crisis. He also emphasized that Europe should not allow a repeat of the 2015 migration crisis.
Mr. Mitsotakis called for a "solid institutional process" for activating the EU's mutual assistance clause, referring to the support provided by Greece to Cyprus after a recent attack. He also stressed that Europe must be prepared to face the economic and energy consequences of the crisis, suggesting that attacks on energy infrastructure should cease.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister warned of the possibility of new refugee flows, stressing the need to protect Europe's external borders. Prior to the Summit, he participated in an informal meeting on migration with the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and other member states.
