Mitsotakis: New Chair for Alexander the Great at AUTH

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the signing of a memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of an academic chair on "Ancient Greek History: Alexander the Great and His Era" at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).

The new chair will be funded for three years by the Hellenic Federation of Industries (SBE), the Exporters Association of Greece, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Professionals, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Tradesmen, and with a symbolic amount by the Macedonia-Thrace Sector of the Ministry of Interior.

The purpose of the chair is the systematic research of the history of Alexander the Great, interdisciplinary study, and strengthening the international presence of AUTH.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that the establishment of the chair is an example of cooperation between universities and the private sector.
