Mitsotakis Announces Team to Investigate Illegal Aid Payments

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the establishment of a special control team for aid payments, aimed at investigating illegal payments and attributing unduly paid amounts.

Referring to the OPEKEPE scandal, Mr. Mitsotakis acknowledged long-standing state weaknesses and the inadequacy in addressing them. He emphasized that OPEKEPE was placed under the responsibility of AADE.

The Prime Minister acknowledged long-standing vote-seeking practices and stressed the need for a change in the model of political action.
