EU Commissioner Brunner in Athens over Libya Migration Surge

EU Commissioner for Migration, Magnus Brunner, will visit Athens tomorrow to discuss the increase in migration flows from Libya.
Mr. Brunner will meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, and Minister of Migration and Asylum Athanasios Plevris. Discussions will focus on the implementation of the Migration Pact, more effective returns of migrants, and border management.
The European Commission expresses concerns about the increase in irregular migration from Libya and seeks solutions in cooperation with the Libyan government and authorities, as stated by Commission spokesperson Markus Lamert.
Additionally, Mr. Brunner is expected to discuss current challenges in the Middle East.
