N. Dendias: No Drones Headed to Crete - Defense Readiness

The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, categorically denied scenarios about unmanned aerial vehicles heading towards Crete, speaking on Alpha.
Mr. Dendias emphasized Greece's readiness to protect national and European territory, stating that measures have been taken to address any attempted attack on Greek soil. He referred to the presence of the frigates "Kimon" and "Psara" as well as the F-16 fighters in Cyprus, as part of Greece's defense strategy.
Furthermore, Mr. Dendias stressed that the naval base in Souda is within range of enemy missiles, but Greece's defense mechanisms are fully developed and security measures have been increased.
Regarding Iran, Mr. Dendias described the situation as unpredictable and recalled the presence of the frigate "Hydra" off the coast of Djibouti to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Referring to the changes in military service, the minister stated that he intends to visit the new recruits and stressed that reforms in the Armed Forces take time.
Finally, Mr. Dendias referred to the lessons learned from the war in Ukraine and the activation of the domestic defense industry for the manufacture of military equipment.
