G. Xylouris ("Frappes") to be Tried for Disobedience in OPEKEPE Case

Unionist Giorgos Xylouris, also known as "Frappes," will be tried on March 30 by the Athens Single-Member Misdemeanor Court for the offense of disobedience. The prosecution was initiated by the Athens Court of First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
The case concerns G. Xylouris' refusal to testify before the inquiry committee for OPEKEPE when he was first summoned. Instead, he sent a memorandum invoking the right to remain silent, causing reactions from members of parliament.
G. Xylouris also faces a second indictment for false testimony, regarding the answers he gave to the parliamentary inquiry committee regarding illegal subsidies through OPEKEPE.
