P. Marinakis: 7th Anniversary of the Mati Tragedy

Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis commemorated the 7th anniversary of the deadly fire in Mati, stressing the need for remembrance and respect.

In a post, P. Marinakis noted that everyone's thoughts are with the people who are still bearing the burden of that day. He also emphasized the State's responsibility to turn memory into action, learning from past mistakes and ensuring that there is never a similar nightmare again.

P. Marinakis mentioned that changes have been made to the civil protection mechanism, with priority given to prevention and continuous readiness, but the effort never ends.

It is noted that 7 years have passed since the fire in Mati, where 104 people lost their lives.
