Papastavrou Criticizes Tsipras for 'EEC and NATO' Rhetoric

Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou, criticized Alexis Tsipras for reviving the rhetoric of 'EEC and NATO are the same syndicate.' The criticism followed statements by Alexis Tsipras regarding energy prices and characterizations towards Kyriakos Mitsotakis during the presentation of his book.

Mr. Papastavrou commented on Tsipras' statements, emphasizing that a former prime minister should not comment with such toxicity on a twice-elected prime minister. He also referred to Greece's energy sufficiency, noting that natural gas flows are normal and that the government is taking measures to support citizens.

Regarding electricity prices, Mr. Papastavrou stated that according to Eurostat data, Greece is below the European average, but the government is still seeking cheaper electricity. Additionally, he referred to the agreements with Chevron, emphasizing that no sovereign rights are assigned and that Greece becomes stronger through these agreements.

Alexis Tsipras, at the presentation of his book, referred to 'genocide in Gaza' and accused the Greek Prime Minister of amorality and subservience. He also expressed his opposition to Cyprus joining NATO and the concession of military facilities to the USA.
