Pappas: ND Doesn't Zero Out ATM Fees

Nikos Pappas, SYRIZA's parliamentary representative, accused the government of maintaining the €1.5 fee for third-party ATM providers. According to Mr. Pappas, while bank ATMs are being sold, vulnerable citizens are forced to use companies like Cashflex with higher charges.

Mr. Pappas argued that Mr. Pierrakakis announced a zero fee for withdrawals from bank ATMs and via DIAS, but the DIAS system will shrink. Fees outside the DIAS interbank system will remain as they are.

Mr. Pappas proposed a zero charge for small depositors and vulnerable people at every ATM, regardless of provider. He noted that small depositors account for over 70% of all depositors, according to BoG data.
