PASOK to Reintroduce Resolution on Recognition of the State of Palestine

PASOK will bring back to Parliament the 2015 resolution on the recognition of the State of Palestine. Nikos Androulakis, the president of PASOK, will submit a letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, on August 25, requesting a special plenary session to update and reaffirm the resolution.
The resolution was unanimously approved by the Hellenic Parliament on December 22, 2015. Nikos Androulakis had announced this initiative before the Parliament's recess on July 31, emphasizing the importance of the two-state solution for peaceful coexistence in the region.
Nikos Androulakis stated that the country should take initiatives to recognize the Palestinian State, within the framework of the two-state solution, as defined by the United Nations resolutions.
