Pavlos Marinakis: Update on Frigate Kimon and the Budget

Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis briefed political editors on the frigate Kimon and the state budget for 2026.

According to Mr. Marinakis, the frigate Kimon marks a new era for Greece's defense capabilities. Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in the European Council Summit, emphasizing the importance of financial support for Ukraine.

The state budget for 2026 was ratified by the Plenary of the Parliament with 159 votes in favor. It foresees a 2.4% growth in the Greek economy and a decrease in unemployment to 8.6%.

Additionally, six new actions were announced to address the housing issue, including a 400 million euro home renovation program.

Finally, the issue of loans in Swiss francs was settled, with the conversion of obligations to euros and a fixed low interest rate.
