Personal Number: How to Issue and What Applies

The issuance of the Personal Number begins, aiming to simplify citizens' transactions with the public sector and reduce bureaucracy.

From November 6th, those who do not have a Personal Number will obtain it automatically. The issuance process is simple via the myinfo.gov.gr platform, using TaxisNet codes.

The Personal Number will gradually replace the AFM and AMKA, becoming the basic identification tool. Citizens can check their data and issue a Personal Number for their minor members via pa.gov.gr.

Those who do not issue a Personal Number may face problems in services such as submitting tax returns and electronic transactions with the public sector.

The Personal Number is permanent and unchangeable for the entire life of the citizen and will be written on the new IDs and the digital ID in the gov.gr wallet.
