University Rectors: Progress on Student Dismissals

The Rectors' Synod expressed satisfaction that its proposals regarding student dismissals were included in the Ministry of Education's bill.

In a statement, the Synod reaffirmed its commitment to the smooth and democratic operation of Higher Education Institutions, emphasizing the importance of providing high-quality education.

They reiterated the proposal to allow for justified handling of special cases of students at risk of dismissal, within a specific percentage.

Regarding security at universities, the Synod stressed the importance of civil protection measures, taking into account the particularities of each institution.

Finally, regarding disciplinary provisions, it stressed the need for penalties to be proportionate to the offenses and consistent with the role of HEIs.
