A unified digital registry is being created to monitor corruption cases throughout Greece, according to a bill by the Ministry of Justice.

The aim is to collect reliable statistical data and expedite the administration of justice. The registry will record the procedural stages of corruption offenses from the initial investigation to the final resolution of the case.

The Hellenic Parliament, courts, prosecutor's offices, police authorities, the National Transparency Authority, and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue will be responsible for updating the registry.

The registry will be interoperable with other digital platforms, and each case will receive a unique identification code. A strict framework for registering anonymized data is established to protect personal data.

The Ministry of Justice is designated as the Operational Management Body of the registry.

A three-member committee will monitor the operation of the registry and prepare an annual report, which will be accessible to citizens.

Deputy Minister of Justice Ioannis D. Bougas stated that the bill aims to upgrade the country in the evaluation indices of international institutions.
