Routsi on Karystianou: 'I Begged Her to Speak About Tempi'

Panos Routsi and Ilias Papangelis described on Mega what happened with Maria Karystianou at the rally for the anniversary of the Tempi tragedy in Syntagma Square.

Mr. Routsi stated that he tried to persuade Maria Karystianou to speak, but she did not want to wait any longer. 'I was telling her, I was begging her to sit down and speak. And she didn't want to, she wanted to leave. She just didn't want to stay any longer. That's all,' he said.

For his part, Ilias Papangelis explained that he was informed that Ms. Karystianou was not on the list of speakers. 'As my speech was coming to an end, I looked towards where she was and I didn't see her anywhere... I finished my speech, I went down and asked... 'Where is Mrs. Karystianou?' She left. Why did she leave? She got tired.'

Maria Karystianou, the mother of a victim of the Tempi tragedy, had prepared a speech but complained that she was not given the opportunity to speak by the Organizing Committee.
