Tempi Victims' Association Requests Change of Trial Venue

The association of relatives of the victims of the Tempi tragedy is requesting a change of the trial venue, arguing that the conditions do not allow for a dignified and open administration of justice.
In a statement, the association alleges that the government is attempting to conduct a trial behind closed doors, away from the public eye. It also emphasizes the need to ensure the presence of all stakeholders, including relatives, lawyers, and media representatives, in a space that reflects the seriousness of the case.
The association states that three years after the tragedy, the government continues to mock them, with the first day of the trial marked by images of overcrowding and unacceptable conditions inside the courtroom. It is noted that despite having three years to prepare for the trial, the whole process seems to have been done hastily, resulting in the devaluation of the importance of the trial.
The association demands an immediate change of the trial venue in order to ensure the dignified presence of all those involved and to prevent the cover-up of the Tempi crime.
