Grateful Father Thanks Liver Donor of 15-Year-Old Dimitris

The father of 15-year-old Dimitris, who underwent a liver transplant after suffering acute liver failure due to heatstroke, has expressed his gratitude to the donor. Dimitris is recovering in Turin, where he was transferred by a special EKAV flight.

Speaking to protothema.gr, Dimitris' father said: "I want to thank the donor and his family from the bottom of my heart. I owe my own life to this 'little angel', as he kept my child, my Dimitris, alive."

The incident occurred on July 24th during a hike in Chaliki Metsovou. Dimitris' health deteriorated due to a rare disorder, anhidrosis. Dimitris is now out of the ICU and is in contact with his surroundings. His parents are by his side.

According to reports, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis contacted Dimitris' family to inquire about his health.
